This Spring, New Voices gives SCPA students an opportunity to learn and voice their opinions about the community of Over-the-Rhine.

This past fall, Sycamore high school worked with the creative writing group at the Drop Inn Center in Over-the-Rhine to explore community and self-identity. Sycamore students showed their work at the Cincinnati Art Museum beginning in the Winter of 2011.

New Voices began its programming in August, 2009 with a group of SCPA creative writing students seeking a more meaningful connection with the Over the Rhine community in which their school is located. Students partnered with the Drop Inn Center, Cincinnati's largest homeless shelter to learn about its work and to form artistic collaborations with residents of the Center engaged in a creative writing program. Students also learned about the extensive development program initiated by 3CDC to reinvigorate and ignite reinvestment in retail and residential development of Over the Rhine.

In March, 2010 Princeton High School students studied issues of low income housing in downtown Cincinnati by learning about the history of social justice in Cincinnati, the current state of Over-the-Rhine and the development efforts at the Metropole Apartment Building in downtown Cincinnati.
